Job description

About us

At MWS, we are on a mission to become the home of game-worn culture. We do this by connecting global fanbases to the ultimate fan item: match-worn and signed shirts from the world's biggest athletes and brands around the world. We accelerate engagement, interaction and revenue by enabling our customers to access pieces of sporting history, while raising funds for the causes that matter most to our partners. And the best part? We do it all live from the kick-off. With more than 400 partners globally, we are the outright market leaders in our industry. We see ourselves as innovators, constantly looking for new ways to surprise and delight our audience.

About the role

As the Senior CRM Specialist, you'll co-own the CRM strategy and execution for MWS, driving customer retention and lifetime value across a global base of sports fans and collectors through data-driven, always-on campaigns, automations and journeys across email, push, WhatsApp, webhook, web and app.

You'll take this on as a peer to our current Senior CRM Marketer, representing CRM on cross-functional, company-wide initiatives and playing a key role in converting non-bidders into bidders across our global fanbase.

Your responsibilities include:

  • CRM Strategy: Co-own the CRM strategy for MWS (and additional sub-brands) across web, app and email/push/webhook/WhatsApp channels.

  • Automation Ownership: Own and evolve a portfolio of always-on automations in Customer.io, including welcome series, stickiness campaigns, transactional flows, abandoned cart and quick bidder flows.

  • Campaign Execution: Concept, build and execute campaigns and automations that increase customer lifetime value and convert non-bidders into bidders.

  • Segmentation & Personalisation: Drive segmentation and personalisation strategy across the customer base using behavioural and preference data.

  • Fan-Focused Content: Translate sports moments into timely, relevant campaigns for fans and collectors.

  • Platform Ownership: Act as a technical owner within Customer.io, evaluating new platform features, improving the automation stack, and sanity-checking high-stakes sends.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner closely with Data & Analytics, Product, Creative and Customer Service to execute strategic plans.

We are looking for the following skillset:

  • Experience: Solid, senior-level experience in digital marketing, with a specialisation in CRM / lifecycle marketing and customer retention; comfortable owning complex, always-on programmes with minimal oversight.

  • Marketing Automation Platform: Hands-on experience with Customer.io (or a comparable ESP/marketing automation platform), including building and maintaining automated, event-triggered campaigns; experience with a CDP (e.g. Segment) is a plus.

  • Data-Driven Mindset: Strong with performance data and comfortable turning it into actionable insight, with knowledge of database segmentation, customer journey development, retention, loyalty and email marketing.

  • Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or another relevant field.

  • Mindset: A "getting things done" mentality — when you have an idea, you want to execute it and see how it performs.

  • Sports Passion: A genuine passion for football and sports, and the ability to bring that passion into how we speak to our fans and collectors.

  • Legal: EU passport or valid working rights for the Netherlands.

What We Offer

  • Informal and Sporty Environment: An informal, international and sports-focused work environment.

  • Room for Initiative and Impact: Plenty of room for your ideas and the opportunity to make a real impact.

  • Hospitality seats: Enjoy a great match at one of our business seats at clubs all over the world.

  • Paid time off: Up to 29 paid days off per year to recharge.

  • On-site gym: Access to an in-office gym with a personal trainer, free to use at any time!

  • Commute coverage: Travel allowance coverage of €0,23 per km to support your commute.

  • All equipment you need: We provide you with a MacBook, mouse and keyboard of choice.

  • Company events: Multiple times per year we organise formal and not-so-formal events in our office and elsewhere.

  • Location & Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week) based in our Amsterdam office, with the opportunity to work from home on Tuesdays.

Our procedure

  1. Introductory video call with our Talent Acquisition Manager (± 20 min).

  2. Assessment round (± 120 min).

  3. Invitation to our one day at the office which contains 2 full interviews on the same day with an evaluation moment in between. (± 120 min)

Before the final one day, we request every candidate to complete a personality questionnaire, which gives us insight into how your personality could add value to the team.
